Chronometer of metal (brass) with silvered engraved dial. Walnut case.

Captain William Edward was the first Master of the Thermopylae. The chronometer was remounted as a mantle clock following his retirement. Chronometer made by James Hatton, London circa 1822. Number 272

Purchased in 2003 with assistance from the National Fund for Acquisitions and with income from the Duthie Bequest.
